Disneyland Insider Tips for Special Needs
Aaah, Disneyland. You really are the happiest place on earth. The first time I took my kids, I didn’t know what to expect. I had only been to the park one time, and it was as an adult. When I saw the look on my (then) three-year old’s face, as he was riding the Astro Orbitor, I cried. Genuine, happy tears. It was in that precise moment that I got hooked on all things Disney. We didn’t hesitate to get our annual pass that very day. For the next 4.5 years, we made many, many trips to the parks. We even used our annual pass discount to stay a few times at the hotels.

When Jill Simonian, friend and (fab) mom extraordinaire asked for some Disneyland insider tips and tricks, I jumped at the chance to share some of the info I’ve collected over the years. The advice I have isn’t the run of the mill info that you’ll find on other sites, rather for parents/caregivers of people with special/extra needs. This includes kids with autism, SPD, and any other cognitive or physical limitations. Click here to watch Jill’s segment on CBS, and to read my insider tips and tricks!

Great information. We are headed to Disneyland in October. Makes me so happy to know that the place we are visiting is so accommodating.
I have a lot of other tricks under my sleeve; let me know if you want more, I’ll email you before your trip!
I love that Disney is so receptive to special needs kids! Makes me want to visit there even more. Hopefully someday we will make a trip with our family. Many of our friends have been and their stories make me so excited!
This is so awesome! These tips are so important for all parents. I love that Disney is so inclusive. I really want to take my boys to Disneyland in about a year, so they will remember the trip.
Great info!!! I love in FL and had a annual pass for Disney world! So much for kids to do no matter who the kiddo is 🙂
Your tip about drinking water and stay hydrated is spot on. It gets so hot in the parks and kids are just on stimulation overload. Snacks are key too!
These are really wonderful tips! I appreciate you sharing them with us! Thank you!
